We may update this section after implementing or changing our cookie banner, cookie preference center, consent management platform, analytics tools, advertising tools, or other tracking technologies so that this Privacy Policy accurately reflects the tools and choices available on the website.

Global Cookie and Tracking Consent Approach
Because our websites may be accessed by visitors from multiple jurisdictions, we may configure our consent-management tools to apply a global opt-in consent approach for non-essential cookies and similar technologies. Under this approach, non-essential analytics, advertising, targeting, remarketing, customer matching, lead attribution, campaign measurement, and similar tracking technologies are designed to remain disabled or denied until a visitor provides affirmative consent through the cookie banner, cookie preference center, or other consent-management tool made available on the website.
Essential or strictly necessary technologies may continue to operate because they are required to provide the website, maintain security, remember privacy choices, prevent fraud, enable basic functionality, or provide services requested by the user. You may change your cookie and tracking preferences at any time through the cookie preference center, “Cookie Settings,” “Your Privacy Choices,” or similar link made available on the website.

8. Sale, Sharing, Targeted Advertising, and Privacy Choices
We do not sell personal information for money. However, some privacy laws define “sale,” “sharing,” “targeted advertising,” or similar terms broadly to include certain disclosures or uses of personal information for advertising, analytics, cross-context behavioral advertising, customer matching, conversion measurement, or similar marketing purposes. We may share identifiers, contact information, online activity information, cookie identifiers, device information, lead information, customer status, facility location, transaction information, advertising interaction information, and similar information with advertising platforms, analytics providers, marketing vendors, and advertising agencies to deliver, personalize, measure, attribute, suppress, or evaluate advertising and marketing campaigns. This may include using tools such as Google Ads, Google Customer Match, Meta advertising tools, Meta Custom Audiences, remarketing tags, conversion tracking tools, pixels, cookies, lead attribution tools, call tracking tools, or similar advertising and analytics technologies. These tools may be used to measure whether advertisements result in inquiries, reservations, rentals, phone calls, form submissions, or other customer actions; match advertising leads to confirmed customers; suppress existing customers from receiving certain advertisements; avoid unnecessary advertising spend; analyze lead quality; and improve campaign performance. To support these activities, we may provide limited customer information, such as email address, phone number, name, mailing address, customer status, lead status, facility location, or transaction information, to authorized marketing vendors or advertising platforms. Depending on applicable law and the technology used, these activities may be considered a “sale,” “sharing,” “targeted advertising,” or similar advertising-related processing. Where required by applicable law, we provide privacy choices that allow you to opt out of certain sale, sharing, targeted advertising, customer matching, cross-context behavioral advertising, or similar activities. You may exercise these choices through the “Your Privacy Choices,” “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information,” “Opt Out of Targeted Advertising,” cookie preference center, or similar link or tool made available on our website, where applicable. You may also contact us at information@freeupstorage.com. Some browsers and browser extensions allow users to send privacy preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control or other universal opt-out signals. To the extent required by applicable law and supported by our website technology, we will process legally recognized opt-out preference signals as requests to opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or similar activities for the browser or device that sends the signal. Because these signals are browser- and device-specific, you may need to enable the signal separately on each browser or device you use. Opting out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or similar advertising-related processing does not mean you will stop receiving all advertising. It means that we will not use or disclose your personal information for the opted-out advertising purposes where the opt-out applies. You may still receive contextual advertising, transactional communications, service-related communications, or advertising that is not based on the opted-out activity. Before using customer-list sharing, Customer Match, Custom Audiences, lead matchback, or similar advertising platform features in a way that is subject to opt-out rights, FreeUp Storage will evaluate applicable privacy-law requirements, confirm vendor and advertising platform data processing terms, and align the operational workflow with applicable opt-out, consent, contract, and preference-management requirements. 9. Online Security Measures and Data Protection
We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against accidental, unlawful, or unauthorized access, destruction, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. Measures include access controls, encryption in transit and at rest where feasible, network monitoring, secure development practices, employee training, and vendor due diligence. We conduct regular audits to help ensure the security of personal information. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach, we will provide notice to affected individuals, regulators, and other parties as required by applicable law.

10. Your Privacy Rights and Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights regarding your personal information, subject to applicable law and certain exceptions. These rights may include:

Access: You may request confirmation of whether we process your personal information and request access to or a copy of certain personal information we maintain about you.
Correction: You may request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete personal information.
Deletion: You may request that we delete certain personal information, subject to exceptions such as legal obligations, active account requirements, transaction records, security needs, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, collections, enforcement of agreements, and other permitted business or legal purposes.
Portability: You may request a copy of certain personal information in a portable and, where technically feasible, readily usable format.
Opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising: You may have the right to opt out of certain disclosures or uses of personal information that may be considered a sale, sharing, targeted advertising, cross-context behavioral advertising, customer matching, or similar advertising-related processing under applicable law. This may include certain uses of cookies, pixels, tags, advertising platforms, analytics tools, customer matching tools, lead attribution tools, or similar technologies as described in this Privacy Policy.
Opt out of certain profiling: We do not engage in automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal effects or similarly significant effects concerning individuals. Any profiling activities we conduct are limited to business analytics, customer communications, service preferences, marketing effectiveness, advertising attribution, fraud prevention, security, and related operational purposes.
Withdraw consent: Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to applicable law and any limitations related to services already provided or legal obligations.
Appeal: Where required by law, you may appeal our decision if we decline to act on your privacy request.
Non-discrimination: You have the right to exercise your privacy rights without being discriminated against. We will not deny you services, charge you different prices, or provide a lower quality of service because you submitted a privacy request, except as permitted by applicable law.

Your Choices and Controls
You may control certain uses of your personal information in the following ways:

  • Privacy requests: You may submit a request to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information using the methods described below.
  • Marketing communications: You may opt out of promotional emails by using the unsubscribe link in the email or by contacting us. You may opt out of promotional text messages by following the instructions provided in the message, such as replying “STOP,” where applicable.
  • Cookies and targeted advertising: Where available, you may manage certain cookie and tracking preferences through our cookie banner, cookie preference center, “Cookie Settings” link, “Your Privacy Choices” link, “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link, “Opt Out of Targeted Advertising” link, or similar tool made available on our website.
  • Browser and device controls: You may manage cookies and other tracking technologies through your browser or device settings. Some browser settings may affect website functionality.
  • Global Privacy Control and universal opt-out signals: Some browsers and browser extensions allow users to send privacy preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control or other universal opt-out signals.
Opting out of marketing, targeted advertising, sale, sharing, or similar advertising-related processing does not opt you out of transactional, administrative, legal, safety, security, account, rental, payment, facility access, or service-related communications. We may continue to send non-marketing communications as necessary to provide services, manage your account, process payments, respond to requests, provide notices, comply with legal obligations, enforce agreements, protect our rights, or operate our business.

How to Submit a Privacy Request
To submit a privacy request, please contact us using the information in Section 12 below, or submit a request through our online privacy request form at www.freeupstorage.com/privacy-request, if available. You may also contact us at information@freeupstorage.com. We may need to verify your identity and place of residence before processing your request. Verification may require matching information you provide with information we maintain. We may deny certain requests as permitted by law, including where we cannot verify your identity, where an exception applies, or where we are required or permitted to retain the information. Authorized agents may submit requests on your behalf where permitted by applicable law. We may require the authorized agent to provide proof of authorization and may also require you to verify your identity directly with us, unless otherwise prohibited by law. We will respond to verified privacy requests within the time required by applicable law. Where permitted, we may extend the response period if reasonably necessary due to the complexity or volume of requests, and we will notify you of the extension.
